About David Friedman

David qualified via a Bachelor of Science Degree in Surveying. He holds double Masters Degrees. A Master Degree in Geomatics and a second Masters Degree in Housing Development and Management, both from the Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment at the University of Cape Town. David was elected as a member of The SA Council for Professional Land Surveyors and Technical Surveyors in 1988. He has worked continuously in the land and planning field for the past thirty years, of which over twenty two years were with local government at senior management level. David has served as Head of Town Planning at Paarl Municipality as well as an appointment as Director of Public Works at Bitou Municipality from 2002-2008. David has extensive and diverse experience in a very wide range of management, survey, planning, environmental and land development projects. In 2015 David was appointed on a fixed term contract (2015-2020) as the Head of Strategic Services at Bitou Local Municipality (Plettenberg Bay). In 2017 David was appointed by the IEC as the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) for Bitou Municipality. In 2018 was appointed by the National Minister of Sports Arts and Culture to The South African Geographical Names Council (SANGC) where he currently serves as a Councilor on the advisory panel. David has successfully completed all minimum competency requirements as per the MFMA regulations. David is a qualified Property Practitioner Real Estate NQF5.
